    By area, Rajasthan is the largest state in India. Rajasthan covers regions of 342,239 km2 and 10.4% of the total geographical regions of India.

It is located on the northwestern side of India. Rajasthan is the 7th largest state by population in India. Neighboring states of Rajasthan are Panjab to the north, Hariyana and Uttar Pradesh to the northeast, Madhya Pradesh to the southeast, and Gujarat to the southwest. The geographical feature of Rajasthan are the Thar Desert and the 

Aravali range. Mount Abu lies at the southwestern end of the border, Separated from the main border by the West Banas River. Rajasthan was formed on 30 March 1949.

Heera Lal Shastri served as the first cm of Rajasthan.
