                     BANSURI(FLUTE)

 
The flute may be a family of musical instruments within the woodwind group. It is an aerophone produced from bamboo.A bansuri is traditionally made up of one hollow shaft of bamboo with six or seven finger holes.The six-hole instrument covers two and a half octaves of music. The bansuri is typically between centimetres (12 in) and 75 centimetres (30 in) in length and the thickness of a human thumb. One end is closed, and few centimetres from the closed-end are its blowhole. the musician creates the notes he wants by tapping the varied finger holes. It is mentioned as Nadi and tunava within the Rigveda and other Vedic texts of Hinduism. Its importance and operation is discussed within the Sanskrit text Natya Shastra. 

           LORD KRISNA AND BANSURI

                          


 Lord Krishna was the son of Devaki and Basudev . Bansuri is a favorite instrument of Lord Krishna. Shri Radha is the lover of Lord Krishna. All the Gopis of Goppur were admirers of the flute sound of Lord Krishna. When they heard Lord Krishna's flute sound, they followed Krishna to hear his flute voice. bansuri is closely related to the love story of Lord Krishna and Radharani. Therefore, Lord Krishna is called Bansuriwala, Muralibala.
