South Indian classical dance. 

   Kuchipudi is a classical dance. It originated in the village of Kuchipudi in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The name of the dance is Kuchipudi, as it originated in the village of Kuchipudi. Kuchipudi village is located in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. In ancient times, the village of Kuchipudi was called Kuchelapuram or Kuchilapuri, and it was popularly called Kuchipudi. According to Ragini Devi, in ancient times the name of the village came from Sankrit, which was called Kushalva Puram. Kushalva means " the village ofactors". Kushalava is a word from the ancient Sanskrit text, meaning, traveling bird, dancer, reporter. 


      Kuchipudi dance is described in Sanskrit in drama. Kuchipudi dance is written in other Sanskrit texts in India. Like Masahupalli Kepahat. This dance is very ancient. The dance is featured in the tenth-century stone inscriptions and is mentioned in the 15th-century text.17th Century, Narayan Yati and his disciple Shidendra Yogi established a new version of the dance.Kuchipudi is closely related with the "Bhagwat mela". 


     The traditional Kuchipudi dance was performed by men. One dancer was playing the role of a man and another dancer was playing the role of a woman. In this dance, men wear dhoti   and women wear a colorful sari. These dances are based on mythology, the dance is a combination of music and acting. The Kuchipudi dance first invites God,  then the dance is performed. The musical instruments used in this dance are mridangam, violin, veena, flute, talam.
